Heads up mates….Due to popular demand training on 22 Nov 2008 will begin at 9am (Saturday) at Rockwood Park. Refresh your backpacks so that you’ve got everything you’d need for a winter search extended over a 24 hour period. We are going to quickly cover what is in our trailer and then set up operations, produce maps, and do an evac. The evac will require ropes, certain knots, z rig, packaging and litter transport. Don’t have a weather forcast. Imagine cold. One of the team will get to be the victim and have the thrill of a semi tech rescue. I will need base personnel so if you want to operate base (no FTL’s allowed on this one) talk to Denis.
I think we should seriously consider assembling a 3-1 pulley kit with a laminated diagram attached to the stuff sack. There may even be one in the FTL manual.
